Here at Luna we will be having a fun-filled Christmas night, with free eggnog or buck’s fizz all round, and an optional Christmas Dinner Buffet of Turkey and all the trimmings for 800 Baht.</p> <div id="attachment_590" class="wp-caption alignleft" style="width: 310px"><a href="http://www.thai-luna.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/xmas.jpg"></a><p class="wp-caption-text">Beach Christmases Past</p></div> <p>We will of course have our usual menu of Thai and Western specialities and some Christmas desserts for those in the mood. Please pre-book by the 23rd if you would like the Christmas Buffet.</p> <p>On New Year’s Eve we will be holding a beautiful evening to welcome 2012 – featuring a pig roast in addition to our usual menu, and some fantastic cocktail specials.</p> <p>Zin will be dazzling us with his fire-dancing skills and just before midnight we’ll all head down to the beach to toast the New Year and set off lanterns, and fireworks – New Year’s Eve Thong Nai Pan Style. It was organised by Luna owner and took place at Undersky restaurant. It started with drinks and a variation of snacks before the western ceremony took place in the afternoon on the beach under the shade of white silk blowing in the breeze, the whole place was decked out with lushious greenary and stunning arrangements of orchids. Friends and family watched from chairs decorated with silk and fresh posies of flowers. Following this there was a traditional Thai ceremony where all the guests sat on cushions and watched as the local monks blessed the happy couple. As the sun went down everyone mingled with glasses of chilled champagne and dinner was laid out. A delicious buffet of Thai and western dishes created by Luna restaurant was enjoyed at four long tables on the beach with the most beautiful flower arrangements adorning each table and romantic candlelight. With everyone pleasantly full and the drink flowing there was speaches and then the first dance which took place in a semi-circle of candles on the beach.</p> <p>Before the party got going everyone was given paper lanterns which were then lit and sent up into the sky. It was the most beautiful sight as loads of lights floated through the night sky going in any direction the wind took them and carrying the wishes of all those close to the couple. After the cutting of the magnificent wedding cake and coffee the rest of the evening was spent with everyone enjoying music from local DJ Met.</p> <p>It was the most magical evening and everyone enjoyed themselves immensely.</p> <p>If you are interested in getting married in paradise please get in contact and see what we can do to make yout wedding as magical as Henrik and Ulrikas was for them.</p> </article> <article> <h1>Thaibreak party dates at Luna Thong Nai Pan Noi.</h1> <p>Rowena — Tue, 01 Mar 2011 11:57:40 +0000</p> <p>So we finally have the Thaibreak dates. Along with the many parties comes of course the 200 Germans who make up the Thaibreak party crew!! Bringing their own DJ’s and a lot of revenue to the Beach Bars of Thong Nai Pan in Koh Phangan, Thaibreak lasts two weeks and will be here soon!!! Opening party will of course be at Baan Panburi 10th of March! Other parties over the two weeks will be held at Pongs new place ‘Better Than Sex’, Jungle Bar, Funky Buddha and of course our fantastic Luna Lounge!! We are doing two parties this year on the 12th and 15th of March. The School party which is held in Thong Nai Pan Yai and raises money for the local school and temple will be on the 16th and the grande finale will be at Baan Panburi on the 21st.</p> <p>This year all parties will have a door charge for non-Thaibreakers, at this time we are not sure how much it will be however know that all proceeds will be donated to the local school so you can party knowing you are helping the local community at the same time!</p> <p>Thaibreak has built an amazing reputation for its fantastic parties and all the local bars who help this happen pull out all the stops making it the most amazing party time in Thong Nai Pan. Things at Luna and Sala cafe have been busy with plenty of new faces and many old ones returning! We have added a few more delights to the menu bringing a fantastic new range of salads and of course all the old favourites remain!</p> <p>Other news of Thong Nai Pan Noi restaurants is PiPong has opened his new restaurant opposite Luna, it is called ‘Better than Sex’ and in true Pong style has a delicious menu.</p> <p>Other Island news, the recent Full Moon Party was once again extremely busy with most koh Phangan resorts and hotels fully booked over those few days.</p> <p>Next on the agenda in Thong Nai Pan is Thaibreak 2011!! We are expecting two parties at Luna this year and sticking with tradition Thaibreak will kick off with the Baan Panburi party and the grande finale party will be the school party that raises money for the local School and temple on Thong Nai Pan Yai. With the beach busying up again after a quiet monsoon, festive promise was in the air. At Luna we put on a delicious turkey buffet with all the trimmings and of course cranberry sauce, along with home made eggnog and bucks fizz. The evening was truly christmasy with everyone groaning over full tummies and even a touch of the exotic with a fantastic fire dancing show by our new employee, <a href="http://www.thai-luna.com/2010/01/the-zin-master-thailand-fire-dancing/" target="_self">the amazing Zin</a>. We had local DJ Met mixing up some dance tunes along with some classical christmas songs helping to add that extra festive sparkle.</p> <p><a href="http://www.thai-luna.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/fire-dancing-shot.jpg"></a></p> <p>Haad Rin beach on Koh Phangan is the home of the full moon party, they also throw a massive New Years celebration every year. Thousands crowd onto the beach for a night of wild dancing and drinking out of buckets. This New Years was no exception with taxis filled to burst heading out of Thong Nai Pan throughout the evening. Some of the cars turned back due to the road having not quite recovered from monsoon and being too muddy. For all those of you who had been missing the famous Flip Flop Pharmacy the great news is Bert and Roman reopened in a new location on Thong Nai Pan Yai. The opening party went on for two days with old timers, locals, and samui-folk making appearances and plenty of ice-cold Singha on tap.</p> <p>Bert and Roman were on great form and everyone was really impressed with the new bar which has a large bar area with the old teak countertop, a new range of cocktails, comfortable sofa seating and even swings! The location is great: beachfront, next to Central Resort. To get there by car you drive into Central’s car park and then turn right. Locals, loyalists and longterm hedonists were all saddened to see the demise of one of the original and best places to party on Thong Nai Pan.</p> <p><a href="http://www.thai-luna.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/IMG_0262.jpg"></a>Over the years Hideaway has been host to some absolutely legendary parties, with people working the decks from local friends to famous international DJs. K and Sara created a wonderful, characterful bar with great tunes, a great atmosphere, delicious fry-ups and of course, amazing tattoos.</p> <p>Sara and K posted on Facebook “Hideaway has been witness to the most important things that’ve happened in my life so far, brought me some of the best friends I could ever have and some of the loveliest people I could ever hope to meet….love to all those that shared this with K and I!”</p> <p>Hideaway will be sorely missed and Friday nights on Thong Nai Pan will certainly never be the same again.
