Baan Ta Pan Noi **

Beginning with Baan Ta Pan Noi at the very end of the beach – this idyllic spot is a taste of old school koh Phangan magic, with rustic huts starting at 300B and looking out to sea, totally peaceful. They have a restaurant as well as a funky beach front bar, I-sea Bar.

traditional wood bungalows built into the hill rising behind the beach at the end of Thong Nai Pan. Thong Ta Pan is one of the oldest family-run resorts on Koh Phangan. Thong Ta Pan bungalows start at about 1000 B and have fans, air-con, hot water, and mosquito screens in the windows.

Phuwadee Resort and Spa

Phuwadee resort sits in the middle of the beach on Thong Nai Pan. It’s hard to miss with its garish pinky/orange metal roofs. The bungalows are fairly bug proof and have decent bathrooms with hot water. There is a pool on site and a restaurant. Rooms start at 1800B which is more expensive than neighboring Koh Phangan hotels offering similar rooms.

Rasananda *****

Rasananda is Thong Nai Pan’s newest addition, and first truly five-star resort. Though the backpacker whines can be heard up and down the beachthe fact is you can’t stop progress, and all credit to them they have done an absolutely beautiful job.

rasananda phangan island

With gorgeous décor and stunning design the whole of Rasananda resort has a five star feel without losing those essential Koh Phangan characteristics: swaying palms, pristine beachfront intact, rustic salas and beautiful bamboo and hardwood features.

Rasananda opened in December 2008 and has some excellent soft-opening promotions on their website. Talented executive chef, Nick Hall, creates great food and a delicious bistro menu on the beach, and is soon to open a fine dining restaurant upstairs.

Rasananda also has a beautiful spa offering a full range of fantastic treatments, and recently featured in Asia Spa magazine. There are a full range of activities on offer and transfer from Samui airport by speedboat can be organized.

Rasananda is the first resort of its kind on Koh Phangan and is absolutely spectacular. Luna Lounge has no hesitation in recommending them as THE destination on Koh Phangan Island. Guests will not be disappointed.
